Can Amd Radeon RX 9070 XT be competing with RTX 4080?

Early performance tests of AMD’s new generation graphics card Radeon 9070 XT show that this model may have an ambitious position in the upper segment. According to media information and leaked comparisons behind closed doors, the RX 9070 XT can reach a similar performance level with NVIDIA’s RTX 4080. Developed with RDNA 4 architecture, this new GPU offers a significant leap in radiation monitoring and high resolution games. AMD’s new model, especially in 4K resolution and ultra settings, provides significant gains, offers a major performance increase compared to the previous generation Radeon RX 7900 Gre. These developments indicate that AMD can increase the competitiveness against NVIDIA.

The leaked test results show that Radeon RX 9070 XT has a higher performance of 42 %to 168 %at 4K resolution compared to Radeon RX 7900 Gre. It is stated that an average increase of 38 %at a resolution of 1440p and 42 %in 2160p resolution. In the tests focusing on beam monitoring performance, dramatic gains attract attention in some games. Especially Cyberpunk 2077 And Hitman 3 RX 9070 XT, such as beam tracking intensity productions, offers 164 to 168 %better performance compared to RX 7900 Gre. These results show that AMD’s new generation GPU can make a serious leap compared to previous RDNA 3 -based models for radiation monitoring.

AMD claims that RX 9070 XT offers close to RTX 4080 performance

This new model has a significant performance advantage not only compared to the standard version of the RX 9070, not only the RX 7900 Gre. It is stated that it offers a better performance of 16.1 %in 1440p resolution and 18.3 %at 2160p. However, the RX 9070 itself provides an increase of 20 %at 1440p compared to RX 7900 Gre and 21 %at 2160p. These data show that AMD’s RDNA 4 architecture offers significant value gains in terms of performance in high resolutions and especially when beam monitoring is enabled.

Although the AMD has not made a clear comparison of whether the RX 9070 XT will be directly competing with NVIDIA’s RTX 4080, the performance data offered by the card suggest that the two models may be at similar levels. The company states that the RX 9070 XT will compete with the RTX 4070 and RTX 4080 models, but it avoids direct reference to the new generation RTX 50 series. The fact that AMD has not made any comparison against the RTX 5070 Ti model, which NVIDIA recently released, stands out as a remarkable detail.

On the other hand, the software support and optimization of AMD will be one of the factors that will determine the competitiveness of this new GPU. The future of the Radeon RX 9070 XT with the company’s new FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 (FSR 4) technology is confirmed. The FSR 4 aims to provide higher square speeds in games by providing improved artificial intelligence -supported image improvement and performance improvement solutions. This solution, which will compete directly with NVIDIA’s DLSS technology, can help AMD cards maintain the performance advantage, especially when the beam tracking is effective.

AMD’s pricing strategy will also be a critical factor that determines the RX 9070 XT’s position on the market. According to leaked information, this model is planned to be available with a price tag of $ 599. This figure shows that the RTX 4080 is lower than the launch price, but AMD continues its high performance strategy at a more affordable price. On the other hand, the RX 9070 model is said to be on sale for $ 499 and this card is expected to compete with the RTX 5070.

In the light of these developments, how the Radeon RX 9070 XT will perform against the RTX 4080 will become clear with its independent test results. Although the Early Test Results shared by AMD in the closed session are promising, driver optimization and other factors in the final version may affect performance. Third -party tests and user experiences will play a critical role in determining the real position of the RX 9070 XT on the market.

AMD will organize an event on February 28 to share more details about the RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 models. The official release date of the cards is expected to be March 6. However, it should be reminded that this date has not yet been confirmed by AMD. If the leaked performance data reflects the truth, the RX 9070 XT can be a remarkable model in the high-level graphics card market in terms of price-performance ratio.
