BYD leaves window layout to the driver in the new Tang’s widescreen

BYD showed off its new cabin interface, called Giant Screen UI, for the third-generation Tang electric SUV. Citing the company’s new interface announcement, the Chinese automotive press reports that users will resize the windows on the screen and combine them in different layouts. It should not be confused with the brand’s Tang option in Türkiye; this innovation belongs to the new generation prepared for China. BYD plans to launch the five-seat model in the last quarter of 2026.

At the center of the new layout is the large touchscreen that extends from the center console to the front passenger side. Above this, there is a thinner information screen located under the windshield. CarNewsChina reports the diagonals of these two screens as approximately 76.2 and 89.9 centimeters, respectively. The long and narrow shape of the upper screen also shows that a large diagonal value alone does not explain the available space.

Giant Screen UI collects navigation, media and vehicle information in separate windows rather than confining them to a fixed template. Users can change the size of these windows and place different functions side by side. Thus, as much as the size of the screen, the basis of the new interface is how and what information will be shared in that area.

BYD is also adding an artificial intelligence mascot called XiaoMianbao to the desktop. The company’s trailer highlights the character’s ability to respond to voice interaction, greet passengers, and display emoticons on the screen. However, the promotional images do not provide any test results measuring the speed of the system in real road conditions or its effect on the driver’s attention.

850 kilometer range based on China’s CLTC measurement

The new Tang, which includes the interface, has a length of 5,045 mm, a width of 1,980 mm and a wheelbase of 2,950 mm. Single engine option announced 300 kW power produces. Battery options offer capacities of approximately 88.7 and 105.8 kWh, and the ranges announced for different equipment reach 730, 830 and 850 kilometers.

here 850 km value to CLTC cycle belonging You cannot directly compare it with the WLTP results, which are widely used in Europe and Türkiye, as the same measurement. Likewise, the highest range should not be interpreted as the common value of all battery and hardware options. BYD has not yet announced the Türkiye sales date, local equipment or TL price of this new generation.
