Bluesky, a decentralized social media platform, announced that users can now upload videos up to 3 minutes. The platform, which previously offered video up to 60 seconds, expanded this limit and made video sharing experience more flexible. The change can make Bluesky a more attractive option for video content producers.
The updated video time brings Bluesky to a position closer to the X (formerly Twitter) and Meta’s Threads platform. On the X platform, free users can upload videos up to 2 minutes and 20 seconds, while this time is up to 5 minutes at Threads. Bluesky’s new 3 -minute video support can enable users to create longer content and strengthen the platform’s place in social media competition.
Increasing the video time is also seen as an important development for initiatives that develop video -oriented applications in the Bluesky ecosystem. In particular, applications such as Bluescreen and Skylight aim to provide video -weighted experiences using Bluesky’s infrastructure. These applications aim to create a short video ecosystem on the platform, using Bluesky’s decentralized structure called AT Protocol. The new 3 -minute time limit can allow these initiatives to offer a tiktok -like experience.
Bluesky’s new video feature can increase the interaction rates by providing content producers to create longer and meaningful content. Considering the popularity of short videos, Bluesky can be considered to attract more content producers to the platform with this update. In addition, thanks to the decentralized structure of the platform, users will have the freedom to share their content without being stuck to the limitations of algorithms.
Bluesky also offers other innovations to improve experience
In addition to increasing the video time, Bluesky offered new features to improve the platform experience. Users will now be able to review messages from people they do not know thanks to a new screen called “Chat Requests”. In particular, direct message requests have become acceptable or rejected. This kind of feature is considered as an important step to improve safety and user experience, especially on open platforms.
However, the process of silencing accounts on the platform was made faster. Users will be able to use the “Silent Account” option directly by clicking on the three -point icon next to any post. This feature offers ease of use for users who want to avoid unwanted content.
Bluesky also provided a better interface experience for tablet users in the web version. Tablet compatibility was increased and it was allowed to use the platform more efficiently on large -screen devices. Moderation processes have also been developed and new arrangements have been made to make users reporting faster and easier.
