Başarsoft is testing local navigation within the company, the target is early 2027

Başarsoft started to test the domestic navigation application developed in Türkiye within the company. Alim Küçükpehlivan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the company, said in an interview with Istanbul Trade Newspaper that they are planning a free application for individual use. The team, which aims to add a local option to digital map services in Türkiye, aims to reach citizens after the new year of 2027.

This calendar describes the goal of the project rather than a finalized store release date. The work spans several years and the team plans to phase in different products. Therefore, we should not expect the first version of the consumer application and all commercial products of the project to be on the same date.

BvB, a joint structure of Başarsoft and Bilişim Vadisi, is taking part in the project supported by the Ministry of Industry and Technology. Togg is among the companies that will benefit from the resulting product. Küçükpehlivan states that they prepare commercial by-products for stores, institutions and companies in different sectors, as well as other automobile manufacturers.

In the same interview, Minister Mehmet Fatih Kacır emphasizes the goal of managing location data within Türkiye. The purpose here is not limited to just giving directions on the phone. The map infrastructure will also form the basis for location-based solutions that institutions can use in their own services. However, the explanations do not yet replace the application’s privacy agreement or all its technical terms.

The company previously featured Turkish directions and local traffic data.

The development plan that Küçükpehlivan explained to Anadolu Agency in May included live traffic, historical density analyzes and artificial intelligence-supported predictions. The company had announced that it aims to prepare routes that take into account the days when the neighborhood markets are established and to prepare more understandable directions in Turkish.

The visual intersection directions in that statement were also aimed at helping the driver match the direction on the screen with the actual view of the road. Functions such as receiving road work information from public institutions and informing when an ambulance is approaching were also included in the development plan. These should not be considered as features that work on everyone’s phone today.

The target of booking a charging station for electric vehicle users was based on a separate phase from the first version. In his statement in May, Küçükpehlivan marked the second year after the application was put into operation for this function. On the other hand, the start of in-house testing does not indicate that these long-term functions have been completed. The new step that is certain for the reader today is that the team has started testing the application internally.
