Apple will make price updates in App Store Türkiye due to exchange rate changes

Apple announced that it will update the App Store prices in Türkiye as of November 17, 2025. The update in question covers application and in-app purchases depending on changes in exchange rates and tax regulations.

For users and developers in Türkiye, this step is closely related to the position of the local currency TL against foreign currencies on a global scale and updates to the tax system. Additionally, Apple’s official announcement stated that developers implementing local pricing policies will not be directly affected by this update. Therefore, the situation may differ for developers who price the app manually.

From the developers’ perspective, Apple’s notification for Türkiye stated that applications under the “automatic pricing system” will be billed at the new rate. On the other hand, it is also stated that auto-renewing subscriptions are not included in this update. This distinction makes it easier for users to understand in advance what types of apps or purchases may be affected.

App and in-app purchase prices in Türkiye will be updated

Apple announced that there will be exchange rate updates for more than 40 currencies, including Türkiye, Poland and Switzerland, starting from November 17, 2025. In this context, users may encounter increases, especially in applications that do not implement local pricing. Although it has been stated that there will be no price change for developers who set local pricing, users are advised to check whether the same situation applies to all applications.

Similar updates have been made to app store prices in Türkiye in the last few years. For example, in 2021, the prices of applications and in-app purchases in Türkiye increased due to exchange rate pressure. This time, the rapid change in exchange rates and equalization in global sales models seem to have been a trigger for Apple again.

Another important issue for users is; If you plan to make app or in-app purchases before November 17, it may be advantageous to complete these transactions. Some sources warn that the price increase will come into force as of this date and that developers should review their strategies. Developers, however, may face the need to reshape their pricing strategies according to local financial conditions.

In addition, innovations related to the flexible pricing system, such as the “900 price point” that Apple has implemented in the past, also help us understand the infrastructure of this update. In other words, it is not just an increase in TL terms, but also the adaptation of store-based price policies on a global scale to Türkiye. In this context, users’ awareness on Turkish store windows has increased.

In summary, November 17, 2025 may be a turning point for App Store users and developers in Türkiye. This pricing update, caused by changes in exchange rate and tax conditions, affects both one-time app purchases and in-app purchases. Users are advised to follow it carefully and take steps accordingly if necessary.
