It is stated that wired charging support will increase to 40W on the 16 Pro and Pro Max. Wireless MagSafe charging speed will increase to 25W. It is worth noting that these are peak values and cannot be maintained for a long time during the charging process.
Time will tell how increasing the peak values will affect the actual charging time for both technologies in these phones, as that’s what people care about most.
Still, if that happens, it’s good to see Apple increase its charging speeds a bit. The Cupertino-based company is still far from the 120W wired and 50W wireless charging speeds that its Chinese rivals are capable of, but it’s certainly making progress.
