Studio Display, which Apple offered for professional users, attracted attention with its high color accuracy and 5K resolution when it was released in 2022. However, the use of traditional LED back lighting technology of the screen, especially in terms of contrast and black levels, modern televisions and many premium displays have led to to remain behind. According to the latest information, Apple is preparing to launch a new mini Led Studio Display at the end of 2025 or 2026.
Famous screen analyst Ross Young said Apple is working on the new 27 -inch mini LED screen. Mini LED technology offers a lot of more local darkening zones compared to traditional LED displays, making better contrast, brighter whites and deeper blacks. This development can significantly improve Studio Display’s visual performance.
Apple’s current Studio Display model is found successful in terms of color accuracy and sharpness, but due to the limitations of LED technology, backlight bleed (backlight Bleed) and contrast loss may experience problems. Mini LED technology largely eliminates these problems because it contains thousands of small LED light sources that control the back lighting dynamically according to content.
With the transition to mini LED technology, the new screen is expected to perform more successfully in HDR content. Apple has developed this technology over the years by using mini LED back lighting in 14 and 16 -inch MacBook Pro models and iPad Pro series. For this reason, it is estimated that the new Studio Display can come with a more advanced mini LED panel.
Apple’s new Studio Display model is expected to make improvements in the internal camera. The 12 MP Ultra wide -angle camera in the current model was below expectations during the launch and Apple tried to improve the image quality with a software update. In the new model, a better image processing algorithm or a different sensor is among the probability.
However, Studio Display’s built -in speakers were highly acclaimed by users. While the new model is expected to maintain high quality sound experience, it is not yet clear whether there will be additional sound improvements.
With Apple Studio Display, the Pro Display XDR can also renew
Apple’s top segment monitor Pro Display XDR was introduced in 2019 and was the first Apple screen to offer mini LED technology for professional users. However, this model has not been updated since that day and now it has started to get old.
The new Studio Display’s transition to mini LED technology may mean an important change in Apple’s external screen strategy. The company also plans to update for Pro Display XDR and this new model can use a more advanced mini LED or even OLED panel.
There is no official information as to whether Apple will present it as a more affordable option with the new Studio Display and whether it will switch to a completely new model. In addition, the new screen with promotion technology of 120Hz renewal speed will be among the details that are curious.
