Apple reshapes the AI-powered assistant experience with Siri AI

Apple introduced its new generation digital assistant, Siri AI, working with the Apple Intelligence infrastructure, as part of WWDC 2026. According to the company’s statement, this version represents the most comprehensive renewal of Siri yet. Siri AI can understand personal context, interpret on-screen content, and access up-to-date web information; It aims to offer a more natural interaction on iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, Apple Vision Pro and other Apple devices. Developers can start testing new features starting today, and users will be able to access the beta version later in the year.

Apple Senior Vice President of Software Engineering Craig Federighi states that the new Siri is much more capable of finding information and completing tasks. The company emphasizes that Siri AI goes beyond being an assistant that only carries out voice commands and has a structure that understands the user’s context and can perform operations between different applications.

Because the new Siri is built on next-generation technologies from Apple Intelligence, it can provide more personalized responses by leveraging messages, emails, photos and other content. Users can ask a friend to find a recommended restaurant, uncover a hotel reservation number from an old email, or quickly view photos from a recent trip. In addition, if developers provide Spotlight integration, content in third-party applications can also be evaluated within a personal context.

Siri AI’s cross-application processing capabilities also attract attention. Users can draft an email from scratch, edit and share photos, or ask questions about on-screen content. For example, while an invitation message is displayed, Siri can get ideas for the event and a suggested recipe can be added directly to the Notes application.

Siri AI excels with personal context and screen awareness

Apple’s new assistant can access not only data on the device, but also up-to-date web information. In this way, when an upcoming solar eclipse will occur, on which date a particular artist will perform a concert, or current information on different topics can be presented in a natural conversational flow. Users can expand on the answers given with follow-up questions and experience a deeper conversation.

Siri AI can be used with different access methods throughout the system. On the iPhone side, in addition to the “Hey Siri” command, a chat can be started via the side button or Dynamic Island. Thanks to the system integrated into Spotlight on Mac and iPad, users can ask questions on almost any subject. In addition, thanks to the added support for context menus, information can be obtained directly about the texts, files or images on the screen.

On the Apple Vision Pro side, Siri AI integrates with the spatial computing experience. Users can place the three-dimensional Siri interface anywhere in their workspace and initiate a conversation just by looking. Apple Watch users can chat with Siri directly from their wrist. New Smart Stack suggestions make it easier to continue previously started conversations.

Apple states that the new architecture underlying Siri AI is designed with a focus on privacy. The system uses the new generation Apple Foundation Models running on the device and the Private Cloud Compute infrastructure when necessary. The company states that user data is not stored in requests processed through the cloud and no party, including Apple, can access this data. It is also stated that the necessary mechanisms are maintained so that independent experts can verify this security approach.

With the new version, Siri’s voices become more natural and expressive. The system-wide dictation feature works with higher accuracy, while speech is automatically converted to text with punctuation, capitalization and appropriate formatting. In this way, what users say can be transcribed more clearly and regularly.

Apple also offers a dedicated app for Siri. This application securely syncs conversations with Siri via iCloud. Thus, a conversation started on Mac can be continued on iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch or Vision Pro. In addition to all this, Siri now has advanced visual analysis capabilities. Thanks to the new Siri mode added to the Camera application on iPhone, users can ask questions about the objects seen by the camera. Account sharing, learning the nutritional values of meals and similar operations can also be carried out through this mode.

The Visual Intelligence feature coming to iPad, Mac and Vision Pro is also among the notable innovations. Users can search the images on their screens, ask questions and initiate action regarding the content. In addition, new writing tools integrated into Siri can create e-mail and message drafts, rearrange existing texts and provide spell checking. By analyzing users’ communication habits, the system can also maintain the appropriate tone and writing style for different people.

The new generation Apple Intelligence update announced by Apple is not limited to Siri only. Advanced editing tools in the Photos app, new AI-powered navigation features in Safari, and more comprehensive content creation capabilities in Image Playground will also be available to users. Siri AI is at the center of all these innovations, aiming to provide a more integrated and context-sensitive artificial intelligence experience across the Apple ecosystem.
