Apple powers AirPods with Personalized Spatial Audio for Siri Interactions and Games

As it has done in past years, Apple today announced new software features that will come to the company's existing AirPods headphone series. The features were announced during the WWDC 2024 keynote.

One of these was Siri Interactions, which includes new gesture controls for AirPods to control Siri in new ways. It will be possible to respond to Siri by shaking the head yes or no, especially in noisy environments, without having to use the voice.

AirPods Pro get new Sound Isolation technology that uses the H2 chip and machine learning to isolate and improve sound quality while eliminating background noise like wind so the listener can hear you clearly.

The new Personalized Spatial Audio feature, which now supports games and has dynamic head tracking, will also be available on AirPods. One of the first games to support this feature will be Need for Speed ​​Mobile on iOS. Apple is adding a new API so developers can take advantage of personalized spatial audio and new high-quality 16-bit, 48 kHz audio for game chat with AirPods Pro.

New AirPods features will be available in the fall

Personalized Spatial Audio for Games; It will work with AirPods (3rd generation), Pro and Max. AirPods Pro users also experience better audio latency during gaming. The new features will be available in a software update later this fall.

Apple announced that AirPods features such as Adaptive Sound and Speech Detection, as well as new accessibility-focused features, are continuing steadily.
