Apple Music will use Apple Intelligence to create cover art for playlists

Apple made it possible for users to customize the cover art of their Apple Music playlists with iOS 17.1. It looks like the company is looking to take this feature to the next level with iOS 18 and integrate it with Apple Intelligence in the near future.

According to a report by 9to5Mac, which reviewed the fourth beta of iOS 18, Apple is working on a new feature that will allow users to create playlist artwork for Apple Music with Apple Intelligence. The strings indicate that there will be a “Create Image” button when editing a playlist. This button will launch Image Playground, which is part of the Apple Intelligence features.

Apple introduced Image Playground at WWDC 2024. With the app, users will be able to type commands to create new images with the help of AI. These AI-generated images can have different styles, such as animation, illustration, and drawing, but there is no option to create photorealistic images.

Apple Music could offer users several options

It seems likely that Apple Music will ask users what they want their playlist artwork to look like and then create a few options to choose from.

The feature is still in development and, like other Apple Intelligence features, has not been made available to beta users. The company announced that some Apple Intelligence features would be added to beta in the summer, but has since removed references to those features from its website.
