Apple Music, TV and Devices apps come to Windows

It brings the final versions of Apple Music, TV and Devices applications to users on Windows. These applications can be used on x86 devices with Windows 10 and 11.

Apple had previously brought these applications to Windows with “Preview” versions. These versions came to Windows 11, but could not be used in Windows 10. With the release of the final versions, it became possible to use applications on both Windows 10 and Windows 11.

The Music, TV and Devices apps can be described as natural successors to the still existing iTunes. Although the application said goodbye to the macOS platform with macOS Catalina, it still exists on Windows and is updated regularly. However, it is also worth noting that iTunes is a cumbersome application that lacks many modern features.

Apple Music, TV and Devices apps offer features not available in iTunes

For example, with the Music application, it is possible to access all the features on Apple’s own platforms, including access to lossless and high-resolution music. Lossless audio support is not available in iTunes. The TV app gives you access to your iTunes purchases and Apple TV+ streaming content in up to 4K HDR. The Devices application manages operations such as syncing, backing up and updating iPhones, iPads and iPods.

It remains unclear how long Apple will keep iTunes on Windows. This support may continue for versions older than Windows 10, but it should be noted that the number of users of versions older than Windows 10 is gradually decreasing.
