Apple may not use reflection screen technology on the Apple iPhone 17 Pro

The new screen technology expectations that came up for the iPhone 17 Pro models last year seems to have fallen into the water. Information from Chinese sources claimed that Apple has developed a new screen covering of durable and preventive reflection. This technology promised to offer a more resistant protection against scratches. However, the latest reports indicate that these claims may not be realized.

Apple has serious problems while trying to integrate this new screen technology into the production band. According to information transferred by Macrumors, the production process cannot adapt to Apple’s pace of producing millions of devices. This slowness can push Apple to withdraw technology from this year’s iPhone 17 Pro models. This may lead to a delay in the expected screen improvement in the new model.

iPhone 17 Pro can come with the advanced version of the existing technology

In addition, the new screen technology in question, Samsung’s Galaxy S24 ultra model, used in the Gorilla Glass Armor’a similar features were expressed. Gorilla Glass Armor significantly increased screen brightness and readability by reducing reflection up to 75 percent. In addition, this technology made the screen more resistant to scratches and impacts. Apple has been talked about for a long time that Apple wanted to increase screen resistance by offering a similar solution.

Since the iPhone 12 series, Apple has captured a certain standard in screen protection using Ceramic Shield technology. Ceramic Shield emerged with the joint work of Apple and Corning and offered advanced material resistance. On the other hand, Apple announced that this technology has further developed in the iPhone 16 series. The company claimed that the new generation Ceramic Shield was twice as durable than all other smartphone windows.

In addition, it was unexpected to have difficulty in adapting Apple’s existing production lines to new technology. This adaptation problem in the production lines made it almost impossible to include the new screen coating in mass production plans. For a large -scale production company like Apple, even a small slowdown in production rate can have serious consequences. Therefore, Apple’s possibility of continuing its way with existing solutions for this year is strengthening.

Despite everything, Apple does not want to take a step back on durability. The company reportedly continues to work on more robust and preventive screen coverings in the long run. In addition, different methods are focused on accelerating new production equipment. However, in the short term, it does not seem possible for this technology to meet with users.

In addition, Apple is likely to offer a similar or more advanced screen coating technology in the following years. In particular, the expectations of users’ durability and screen performance increases day by day, while the company is expected to look for alternative ways to meet these demands. In the current case, the iPhone 17 Pro is expected to be released with an improved version of Ceramic Shield technology. Thus, it is aimed to avoid serious deficiencies in the user experience.
