Apple may introduce new HomePod Mini and Apple TV in 2025

Apple aims to increase its claim in the smart home ecosystem. According to Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, the company is working on a new HomePod Mini and Apple TV model by 2025. The most striking feature of these devices is that they will use Apple’s own chip codenamed “Proxima”, which combines Bluetooth and Wi-Fi features. This innovation stands out as an important step in Apple’s strategy to reduce its dependence on suppliers such as Broadcom.

The development of Apple’s chip codenamed “Proxima” has been continuing for years. This chip, which will be produced by TSMC, will provide a significant advantage to the company’s existing hardware in terms of both performance and integration. On the other hand, this chip will not be limited to HomePod Mini and Apple TV, which are expected to be released in 2025. According to Gurman, the chip will begin to be used in iPhone models by the end of 2025 and in iPad and Mac devices by 2026. This signals that the company will follow a more independent path in wireless communication technologies in the long term.

Apple’s smart home ecosystem will expand

Apple is not content with just Proxima chip devices, but is preparing to diversify its smart home solutions. The company is also reportedly working on a standalone security camera. This camera is being designed to be compatible with the HomeKit platform and will allow users to easily control video streams in their home via devices such as iPhone, Apple Watch and Apple TV. In addition, it is stated that artificial intelligence-supported features will be integrated into security cameras.

In addition to all this, Apple is expected to launch another device that aims to facilitate smart home management. Gurman states that the company is working on a smart display that can be mounted on the wall. This device will allow users to control lighting, thermostats and other smart devices in their homes from a single screen. Although detailed information about the design and features of the device is not shared yet, it is stated that it may be introduced in 2024.

Thus, Apple aims to gain a stronger position in the smart home ecosystem with its innovations in both hardware and software. Time will tell how these long-awaited innovations will contribute to the user experience.
