Apple is temporarily slowing down Vision Pro production

It looks like Apple has temporarily slowed down production of the Vision Pro headset. According to a report published by The Information, based on several sources that produce parts for the Vision Pro, production plans have been claimed to have been scaled back in recent months. This news follows an interview with Tim Cook about the title published in WSJ Magazine. “Of course I would like to sell more,” Cook said, acknowledging that the device does not appeal to the mass market with its $3,500 price tag.

These developments coincide with Apple’s previously announced strategy this summer, focusing on developing a cheaper headset model. It is stated that this new title may be released next year at the earliest.

The news states that the company that makes the final assembly of Vision Pro headsets was warned that production may be slowed down in November. However, some reservations have been added to this situation; It is said that if demand increases, production may accelerate again and in a future model, some parts will be used the same while the processor will be upgraded.

In April, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo reported that Apple updated its 2024 shipment forecasts for Vision Pro to between 400 thousand and 450 thousand units. The Information claimed that, according to information provided by an employee from the assembly company Luxshare, the company has produced between 500 thousand and 600 thousand titles since the day it started production and that Apple may have enough stock and parts for now.

Tim Cook: Apple Vision Pro is a product for those who want the technology of tomorrow

“Right now it’s an early adopter product,” Tim Cook said in an interview with the WSJ. “For those who want the technology of tomorrow, not today,” he said, adding that many early adopter customers were waiting for a more affordable model to be available in stores.
