Apple is preparing new artificial intelligence tools that will change photos with iOS 27

It is stated that Apple is preparing to expand its artificial intelligence capabilities with iOS 27, iPadOS 27 and macOS 27 updates. While bug fixes and scope expansions are planned in the tools offered by the company under the umbrella of Apple Intelligence, it is understood that these innovations will not be limited to Siri only. According to the information received, new versions will also offer more advanced artificial intelligence-supported features on the photo editing side. In this way, it is aimed that users will be able to make more comprehensive edits on images.

Currently Apple’s Photos app; In addition to basic adjustments such as brightness, contrast and saturation, it offers functions such as applying filters, cropping and deleting objects with the Clean Up tool. However, it is stated that these tools will be taken to a more advanced level with iOS 27. According to Bloomberg, the Clean Up feature will be just one of the tools that will be offered under the title “Apple Intelligence Tools” after the new updates. This approach shows that Apple wants to gather artificial intelligence-based editing options under a more integrated structure.

What will new artificial intelligence-supported editing options offer?

“Extend”, which is expected to be among the new features, will be able to expand the background of photos with the help of productive artificial intelligence. In this way, larger compositions can be created by completing the areas outside the frame. In addition, the tool called “Enhance” aims to minimize user intervention by automatically improving lighting and overall image quality. “Reframe” stands out as a feature developed especially for Apple’s spatial photos and allows perspective changes after shooting. Such arrangements enable more flexible use by enabling re-framing of the photograph.

However, Apple’s innovations in this area mean more direct competition with solutions offered by rivals such as Google and Samsung. In particular, Magic Editor, which Google introduced in 2023, attracted attention by allowing users to make radical changes on photos. While Apple’s new tools are expected to offer similar functions, it seems that competitors are still at a more advanced point in producing completely artificial images. Despite this, Apple’s more controlled approach and focus on system integration aims to establish a different balance in the user experience.

On the other hand, it is also stated that the updates will not be limited to photo editing only. It is stated that Apple is working on a more advanced version for Siri, and that this version can benefit from Google’s Gemini models. In addition, a standalone Siri application and in-app artificial intelligence-supported search features are also on the agenda.
