Apple Intelligence's custom creation capability, Genmoji, will be available in the fall

Apple announced new artificial intelligence features called “Apple Intelligence” in the opening speech of WWDC 2024. With Apple Intelligence, users will be able to create their own emojis and images with the help of artificial intelligence. Emojis prepared with artificial intelligence are called Genmoji by the company.

In the demo, Apple showed that the “relaxing smiley face wearing a cucumber” command created a yellow smiley face emoji with cucumbers over its eyes. If you don't like the first emoji Apple made, you can choose another from a few different options.

Creating official emojis is a pretty big process, so it's a nice innovation for Apple to offer users a way to instantly create their own emojis.

Image Playground was also announced along with Genmoji

Another innovation of Apple is the “Image Playground” application, which makes it possible to create images in different applications or directly within itself. The Cupertino-based company's sharing of highly cartoonish visual examples may be a way to prevent realistic images from being created.

Genmoji and Image Playground will meet users on iOS 18, iPadOS 18 and macOS Sequoia.
