Apple fell to the 4th place in the 2025 Fortune 500 list

The Fortune 500 list, which listed America’s 500 largest companies according to their revenues, has been updated for 2025. There were no big surprises this year at the first place of the list. While Walmart holds the leadership for the thirteenth time in a row, Amazon did not leave its second place. Apple declined one step compared to last year and settled in the fourth place.

Apple has been traveling between the third and fourth places since 2016. This stable displacement is usually experienced with companies such as Unitedhealth Group, Exxon Mobile and Berkshire Hathaway. In the 2025 list, Unitedhealth left Apple behind and took the third place. This change once again revealed that the health sector is getting stronger.

Behind Apple Amazon, in front of Alphabet

Apple was located in the fourth of the list, while it is followed by CVS Health, Berkshire Hathaway and Alphabet, respectively. Although Alphabet ranked seventh ranks, it was stated that it was at the top among the top ten companies in the profit margin. Exxon Mobile, McKesson and Cencora were other names that completed their top ten list. All these companies continue to be at the top of the list with billions of dollars of revenues.

According to Fortune’s data, in 2024 financially, these 500 companies earned a total of 19.9 trillion dollars in revenue. This attracts attention as the highest level recorded so far. The profits reached $ 1.87 trillion and revealed the financial power of large companies. The income limit required to enter the list was increased to $ 7.4 billion this year.

This border means an increase of 4 percent compared to last year. In order to be included in the list, companies now need to produce income in larger volumes. This shows that competition has become more intense not only at the summit, but also in every step of the list. Especially for medium -sized companies, there is a period in which the bar is increasing.

On the other hand, the health sector has made a remarkable output this year’s list. Eight health companies took part in the top 25; This number is quite high compared to previous years. Considering that there was not even a single health company in the first 25 in 1995, the transformation is revealed even more clearly. This development points out that the weight of health services in the economy increases rapidly.

The increase in the number of women CEO was another prominent detail in the list. This year, 55 of the Fortune 500 companies consist of women. This reveals that 11 percent of the CEOs on the list are women. Mary Barra, Jane Fraser and Corie Barry are among the most important leaders representing the diversity in this field.

Although Apple’s fall into the fourth place, it does not decrease anything from the size of the company, the race between the technology giants reveals that it is increasingly sharpening. Alphabet’s increase in profitability, Amazon’s stability and Microsoft’s back performance make this picture even more complex. The elders of the technology sector vary in many criteria such as income, growth and profitability. This clearly reflects that different strategies are adopted within the sector.

Apple continues to be one of the largest companies in the world in terms of income, although one step declines. The iPhone sales, service revenues and wide equipment -oriented product portfolio keep the company’s financial power alive. However, it is seen that competition is hot with players from different sectors such as technology and health. This table is a harbinger of the Fortune 500 list in the coming years.
