Apple did not leave the summit in the tablet market recovered in 2024

The global tablet market enters the recovery process in 2024 and grew by 9 percent and reached a total of 147.6 million shipments. According to the data of the research company Canalys, especially in the last quarter of the year, the shipments supported the rise in the market. In the fourth quarter of the October-December period, 39.9 million tablets were shipped worldwide. This figure refers to an increase of 5.6 percent compared to the same period of 2023. In 2024, Apple maintained approximately 56.9 million tablets and maintained its leadership in the sector.

The company holds 38.6 percent of the global market. Samsung took second place with 27.8 million shipments and reached a market share of 18.8 percent. Apple and Samsung continued to attract consumers, especially thanks to their powerful product range in the Premium segment.

Huawei took the third place with a market share of 7.3 percent by making 10.4 million shipments. Lenovo ranks fourth place with a market share of 7.1 percent with 10.4 million shipments. However, the real attracted attention came from Xiaomi. The company made a growth of 73.1 percent on an annual basis and made 9.2 million tablets shipments. This acceleration, Xiaomi’s Amazon’s Fire tablets left behind and enabled the top five into the global.

Analysts associate this success of Xiaomi with its competitive pricing strategy and high -performance devices in the middle segment. In addition, the company’s integration with ecosystem products increased the demand by strengthening the user experience.

According to Canalys experts, the renewal cycle in the global PC market positively affects the tablet sector. In particular, the spread of hybrid working order increases the interest in portable and versatile devices.

The estimates made for the year 2025 show that the use of corporate tablets will become increasingly widespread and that the business world will invest more in this field. However, it is predicted that the demand may remain more limited on the consumer side. In particular, economic fluctuations and budget restrictions may cause individual consumers to be more cautious in the purchase of new devices.

In the beginning of 2024, the global tablet market broke a four -quarter decline trend and recorded growth again. The sector, which reached 33.7 million shipments with an increase of 1 percent in the first quarter of the year, was positively affected by the revival of consumer expenditures and the stability of the global economy.
