While WhatsApp continues its testing efforts to develop its mobile application, this time it has come up with a new feature that concerns Android users. According to the information revealed, the platform is trying to integrate the notification bubbles support, which was included in the operating system with Android 10, into its own application. In this way, it is aimed to make the messaging experience of users more fluid.
According to the information shared by WABetaInfo, the feature in question is currently in the testing phase in the Android version. This structure, which is familiar to Android users who have used Facebook Messenger before, allows incoming messages to be displayed as bubbles floating on the screen. In this way, users can instantly follow incoming messages on the home screen or while in a different application.
The notification bubbles offered by WhatsApp include the profile photo of the person or group from which the message comes, while a small WhatsApp icon indicates that this is a notification from the application. By touching these bubbles that appear in any corner of the screen, messages can be read and answered through a more compact chat window without opening the full version of the application.
WhatsApp notification bubbles support multitasking experience
This new approach offers practical use, especially for users who maintain multiple chats at the same time. For example, it becomes possible to quickly respond to incoming messages while watching a video or browsing another application. However, since the need to switch between applications is eliminated, the usage experience becomes more seamless.
In addition, integrating this feature, which has been supported for a long time in the Android ecosystem, into WhatsApp can be considered as one of the steps to benefit more from the platform’s system features. However, since the manufacturer interface of each device is different, it is not yet clear whether this feature will offer the same performance on all Android devices.
WhatsApp’s notification bubbles feature is currently in the development and testing phase. For this reason, an exact date has not been shared as to when the feature will be available to all users. However, as with previous similar updates, it is expected to be released to beta users first and made available to the general public after feedback.
