AMD announced that it will officially introduce its new X3D desktop processors with the highly anticipated Zen 5 architecture on November 7. However, detailed information or pricing about the processors has not been shared yet. The company attracted attention with this statement made before Intel’s Core Ultra 200 series launch on October 24. The new Ryzen 9000 series X3D processors aim to deliver better productivity performance with AMD’s advanced 3D V-Cache technology.
Zen 5-based X3D processors, unlike the previous generation Ryzen 7000 series, promise significant performance improvements, especially in multi-core tasks and creative work. According to the latest leaks, it is estimated that the first model to be released will be the 8-core Ryzen 7 9800X3D. It is claimed that this processor will come with a base clock speed of 4.7 GHz and a boost speed of 5.2 GHz or higher.
Performance increase in new generation processors
According to some information leaked by hardware manufacturers such as MSI, the new X3D processors based on Zen 5 architecture will provide a significant performance increase in productivity-oriented software. It is claimed that these new processors will perform close to the standard Ryzen 9000 series, especially in popular benchmark tests such as Cinebench R23, and offer better results than the previous generation 7000X3D series. However, a big jump in gaming performance compared to the previous generation 7000 series is not expected. However, compared to AMD’s current 7800X3D processor, it is thought to maintain its competitive advantage against Intel’s new Core Ultra series.
While Intel is expected to compete with AMD with its own desktop processors, AMD’s Zen 5 architecture X3D processors stand out as a strong option especially for gamers. Intel admitted that the Core Ultra 200 series will lag behind AMD’s 7800X3D model in gaming performance by approximately 5%, which shows that the Zen 5 X3D models will be assertive in gaming performance.
While AMD announced the new X3D series, it also launched an early holiday sale for its existing Ryzen 9000 series processors. While a discount of up to $50 is applied to the Ryzen 9 9950X model, price discounts of $30 are noteworthy for models such as Ryzen 9 9900X, Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X. This promotion may be aimed at encouraging users to purchase existing processors before the new Zen 5 processors arrive.
It is thought that these new generation X3D processors will be an attractive option especially for gamers and creative professionals. More information about pricing and other technical details will be shared in the coming weeks.
