While Honor continues its preparations for the Win 2 series, which it will introduce in China on October 21, new information has emerged about the technical features and designs of the three models. A source sharing on Weibo announced the hardware details of the Honor Win 2, Win 2 RT and Win Turbo 2 models that will be included in the series. In addition, images showing the designs of the phones and a photo of the three devices side by side on their respective boxes were also shared. Leaked information shows that Honor has prepared ambitious features, especially regarding screen refresh rate, battery capacity and cooling systems. However, there are significant differences between the three models in terms of processor, camera and charging technologies.
Honor Win 2, which is expected to be the top model of the series, will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor. It is stated that the phone, which will use LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage technologies, will have a 6.89 inch flat LTPS OLED screen with 2K resolution and 185 Hz refresh rate. The frames on all four sides of the screen are expected to be only 0.93 mm thick. These display features aim to provide a fluid image, especially in games that support high frame rates and fast screen transitions. However, taking full advantage of the 185 Hz refresh rate will depend on whether the applications and games used support this value.
Honor Win 2 is expected to differ from other members of the series on the camera side. According to the leak, the phone will feature a 200-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) support using a 1/1.4-inch sensor. It is also stated that the device, prepared with a metal frame, will have two cooling fans. In addition, symmetrically positioned dual stereo speakers, X-axis linear vibration motor, ultrasonic fingerprint reader and special Win key are included in the hardware list. IP68, IP69 and IP69K certifications show that the device will be resistant to water and dust in different conditions.
It is claimed that the battery capacity of Win 2 will be 10,100 mAh. It is stated that the device will support 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. This capacity is well above the smartphone batteries commonly used today. Despite this, the effect of the high-resolution screen, 185 Hz refresh rate and powerful processor on energy consumption will be among the factors that determine the actual usage time. It is stated that the phone will be offered with five different memory options, ranging from 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage to 16 GB RAM and 1 TB storage.
Honor Win 2 RT and Win Turbo 2 models will come with larger batteries
The second model of the series, Honor Win 2 RT, will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor. It is stated that LPDDR5X Ultra RAM and UFS 4.1 storage technologies will be used in this model. On the screen side, the same features as Win 2 will be preserved and a 6.89 inch, 2K resolution, 185 Hz LTPS OLED panel will be preferred. Metal frame, dual stereo speakers, X-axis linear vibration motor and ultrasonic fingerprint sensor are also among the common features. In addition, it is reported that Win 2 RT will carry IP68, IP69 and IP69K durability ratings.
The differences between the two models appear especially in cooling, camera and connection features. While Win 2 has two cooling fans, only one fan will be used in Win 2 RT. The main camera will still offer 200 megapixel resolution and OIS support, but the sensor size will decrease to 1/1.56 inches. Although it is possible that the smaller sensor may have an impact on image quality, especially in low light conditions, it should be noted that the image processing software will also be decisive in the final results. On the other hand, it is stated that the device will come with a USB 2.0 connection, and this choice may mean lower data transfer speeds for users who transfer large files over the cable.
One of the notable features of Win 2 RT will be its 12,070 mAh battery. Although it carries a larger battery than the top model of the series, the wired charging power of the device will remain at 90W. There is no mention of wireless charging support for this model in the leak. It is stated that memory and storage options will start from 12 GB RAM and 256 GB storage, and 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage will be offered in the highest configuration. Thus, Win 2 RT will come with different preferences in camera sensor, cooling hardware and some connection features in return for higher battery capacity.
The third member of the series, Honor Win Turbo 2, will use the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. It is stated that this model will not have any active cooling fan, unlike the other two devices. The resolution of the main camera will also drop to 50 megapixels, but support for optical image stabilization will be retained. In addition, it is stated that an optical sensor can be used instead of the ultrasonic fingerprint reader in Win 2 and Win 2 RT. These changes indicate that Win Turbo 2 may be positioned as a more accessible hardware option in the series, but prices are not yet known.
On the other hand, there will be no significant restrictions on the screen and battery features of Win Turbo 2. It is stated that the phone will come with a 6.89 inch LTPS OLED screen with 2K resolution and 185 Hz refresh rate. The battery capacity will be 12,070 mAh, the same as Win 2 RT, and 90W wired charging support will be offered. The metal frame, symmetrical dual stereo speakers, X-axis linear vibration motor and IP68, IP69, IP69K certifications will also be preserved. It is claimed that Win Turbo 2 will be available in five different versions, starting with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage options and extending to 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage configuration.
Leaked specifications show that all three models in the Honor Win 2 series will maintain common features such as large screen and high battery capacity. While the top model Win 2 differs with its more advanced camera sensor, dual-fan cooling system and wireless charging support, Win 2 RT offers a different balance with its larger battery and powerful processor. Although Win Turbo 2 gives up the active cooling system, it retains most of its screen, battery and durability features. However, the weights, thicknesses, prices of the devices and whether they will be available for sale in markets outside China have not yet been announced. The official launch on October 21 will clarify the accuracy of the leaked information and the price differences between the models.
