Alibaba added a new one to its artificial intelligence-based technologies and launched its smart glasses called Quark AI for sale in China. These products, offered under two different models, consist of the flagship S1 and the more affordable G1 options. Both models are compatible with Alibaba’s newly introduced Qwen application. This application provides assistance to the user with voice commands and touch controls, using the company’s own artificial intelligence engine. Features such as real-time translation and automatic meeting note creation are among the prominent functions of the glasses.
More than just a hardware product, the S1 and G1 models can directly connect with Alibaba’s digital services. Among the applications offered on the glasses are Alipay and the online shopping platform Taobao. In addition, applications such as QQ Music, one of China’s leading music streaming services, are also integrated into the glasses. Thus, users can manage both their daily digital transactions and entertainment content on a single device.
Alibaba Quark AI S1 reminds me of Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses
The S1 model has a structure reminiscent of smart glasses developed by Meta in collaboration with Ray-Ban. However, micro-OLED, a more advanced display technology, was preferred in this model. In this way, the device, which can provide higher resolution images, also stands out in terms of performance thanks to its powerful dual chipset. While image quality can reach up to 3K level, 4K resolution videos can be improved with artificial intelligence support. In addition, the fact that it is designed to work efficiently even in low light conditions supports the versatile use of the product.
The G1 model, on the other hand, draws attention with its lightweight structure that is more suitable for daily use. Although it is not as technically powerful as the S1, it can perform basic AI-supported features. This model stands out as a more accessible alternative, especially for users looking for a simple usage experience.
Both models are now available on leading e-commerce platforms in China. While the S1 model has a starting price of 3,799 yuan (22,820 TL), the G1 model can be purchased for at least 1,899 yuan (approximately 11,410 TL).
