It’s mid-November and two different design claims have arrived for Apple HomeView

The expected delivery schedule for HomeView, Apple’s display home hub, is mid-November. Mark Gurman’s new report says that the device could reach customers about a month later than expected on October 13. The same report gives an October 30 date for the new Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini. However, Apple has not yet officially announced the name, price and sales schedule of HomeView.

Power On information cited by MacRumors suggests that the home hub will combine the A18 chip and touchscreen. Users are expected to control the device mainly with their voice. The screen will offer the opportunity to operate by touching when necessary. This approach distinguishes a shared control screen at home from personal tablet use.

Gurman states that Apple has prepared two different layout options for the device. The model, which stands on a table or counter, is expected to have a metal speaker base. Space grey, silver, starlight and pink colors are listed for this option. The wall-mounted version has a flat, square base and space gray and silver options.

The report also claims that HomeView will offer better sound than the new HomePod mini. However, there is no independent audio test or technical comparison from Apple yet. Therefore, this statement should not be evaluated as a test result. The price, box contents and installation requirements of different layout styles will also become clear with the promotion.

HomeView’s app approach may differ from iPad

The framework cited by The Apple Post from the same report describes the device as a central interface for Siri and smart home controls. Therefore, the announcement expectation is not limited to just a new speaker with a screen. How Apple services will be used by different members of the household will also determine the function of the product. However, we have to wait for the company’s definitive application and accessory compatibility list.

According to Gurman, the device will support a limited number of Apple applications and will not carry its own App Store. This detail makes it difficult to think of HomeView as an iPad placed on the wall. Users should not assume that all apps on the iPad will land on this screen. On the other hand, current rumors do not confirm which third-party services will be supported.

Mid-November information does not provide a fixed and confirmed sales date. Gurman quotes the calendar as the company’s current plan, without giving a specific day. The fact that the promotion and delivery take place on separate dates will not mean that the product will be released to stores on October 13. A separate regional description will be required for sales, language support and price information for Türkiye.

The name HomeView first appeared in a shell company’s trademark application. In addition, the colorful device images used in the news show concept studies regarding the expected design. These are not finished product photos released by Apple. The official launch will test both the name expectations and whether two different bodies will actually go on sale.
