Lenovo has launched a new portable access point in China called Portable Wi-Fi 6+. The device, which carries the model code L016, supports ten simultaneous connections and is listed at a price of 59 yuan. In addition to Wi-Fi 6 support, it offers a 3,000 mAh battery. However, the mobile connection service that comes with the product is limited to supported regions in mainland China.
Information about the new Lenovo model gives dimensions of 105.1 × 70.1 × 14.1 mm and a weight of 90 grams. The plastic body in black and white options has a carrying rope hole. There is a USB-C charging connection on the side. So you don’t need a large desktop modem setup to add the device to the bag or power it with a power bank.
Lenovo states a theoretical upper transfer rate of 287 Mbps for the product using the ASR communication chip. However, this value does not indicate the actual internet speed that will be received on every connection. The local network, surrounding conditions and connected devices change the result. The Wi-Fi 6 label alone does not guarantee a certain mobile internet speed.

On the other hand, support for ten connections does not mean that 287 Mbps will be offered to each of these devices separately. They all use the public connection. Lenovo L016’s 12-hour claim speaks to standby time
Lenovo’s twelve-hour battery rating corresponds to standby time. This number is not a measured uptime on uninterrupted internet use with ten devices. It is necessary to make this distinction when evaluating the long battery expectation in the headline of the news. A separate usage measurement will be required to see how many hours of active use will be obtained.
The device can continue sharing the connection while charging. Thus, it does not have to rely solely on the remaining energy of the battery when connected to a suitable power source.
