Samsung’s artificial intelligence glasses will be released in November

The sales calendar for Samsung’s Gemini-supported smart glasses has become a little clearer. Speaking to The Korea Herald, a Samsung official confirmed that the company will launch its first artificial intelligence glasses in November. The exact date and price have not been announced yet. For this reason, although the autumn term has been replaced by a narrower calendar, it remains unclear when the product will reach Türkiye.

Samsung showed the glasses it developed with Google at the Google I/O stage in May. The designs prepared with Gentle Monster and Warby Parker have an appearance similar to ordinary glasses in daily use. According to the company’s official introduction, the product works as a device that accompanies the phone. It will be possible to ask Gemini questions by voice, get information about an object seen in the environment, or ask for directions through the camera, microphone and speaker.

Samsung’s smart glasses do not have a screen

According to The Korea Herald, the model that will be released in November does not have a screen that projects images on its glass. While cameras and microphones collect information from the environment, responses are given through the speakers of the glasses; The connected Galaxy phone is used for the process. This approach brings the glasses closer to an assistant that understands audio and visual context rather than an augmented reality display. On the other hand, it is necessary to wait for the final technical specifications to evaluate the impact of the screen-free design on usage time and weight.

Use cases announced by Samsung include summarizing incoming notifications, adding events to the calendar, translating a displayed sign or menu, and taking photos. The company does not say that all of these features will be available in every market at the same time. Language support, connected phone requirements and regional services will determine the purchasing decision. In addition, it is not clear in which countries and with which frame options the Gentle Monster and Warby Parker collaborations will begin.

When wearing glasses carrying a camera, it is also important to inform the people around about the recording. The news states that Samsung will use recording lights on the inside and outside of the frame, and will disable the camera when the external indicator is turned off. These details show how the product will behave not only towards its user but also towards those around it. However, how noticeable the warning light will be in real use will only be understood when the product goes on sale.

Although the November information is based on a Samsung official, the company has not yet announced the exact sales day and price through its own channels. Türkiye availability is also not confirmed. The price, battery life, weight and market list to be announced in the coming weeks will better show how Samsung will be positioned against Meta in this field. In particular, how dependent the glasses will be on the phone connection in daily use will be one of the questions that will determine the practical value of the product.
