YouTube has announced a new assistant that will allow you to edit videos by typing scripts in Shorts and YouTube Create. According to the Made on YouTube statement, the Gemini-supported tool will be able to perform tasks such as changing the order of frames, shortening speech sections and matching music with the image via chat. The content creator will then be able to continue working manually on the timeline if they wish.
This form of editing does not make video editing knowledge completely unnecessary. Preparing a first draft can be easy with a prompt; But the final control of rhythm, accuracy and expression is left to the content producer. The new step marks the transition from ready-made AI effects to an assistant that manages the editing process. The user will be able to start from the suggested commands or write his own request. It will also be possible to make corrections through consecutive speech; This offers an interactive workflow rather than one-off automatic editing.
Data and feedback tools are also expanding on the YouTube Studio side. The Insights and Research sections will examine the performance of past videos and show outstanding results. Tempo, structure and narrative suggestions are planned for the drafts. The platform will also be able to create channel-appropriate thumbnails; The dynamic thumbnail system will attempt to show which of the three candidates is suitable for different audiences.
