Vivo X500 has emerged, it has a significant difference from Pro models

The standard model of the X500 series, which Vivo will introduce in China on September 21, appeared in the Geekbench database shortly before the official announcement. It is seen that the device with the model number V2609A received 2,694 single-core and 7,770 points in the multi-core Geekbench 6.7.1 Android test. The test recording also gives new clues about the processor of the Vivo X500 and shows that there will be a significant hardware difference between the standard model and the higher-end members of the series. However, it is not clear from the available information exactly which model of MediaTek processor is used. Therefore, although Geekbench results provide the first data on the performance of the phone, it is necessary to wait for Vivo to announce the final hardware.

The tested prototype has 12 GB of RAM. Since it is possible for Vivo to offer different memory options when the phone goes on sale, it cannot be said that the capacity seen in Geekbench will be the only option. The recording on the software side contains a more striking detail. While the Vivo X500 appears to be running Android 17, the operating system has the company’s OriginOS 7 user interface. Thus, the phone is preparing to be one of the Vivo models that will come out of the box with the updated Android version.

There will be a processor difference between Vivo X500 and X500 Pro models

It is stated that the MediaTek chipset seen in the Geekbench record may be the newly announced Dimensity 9600M. However, the possibility that the processor is the Dimensity 9500 introduced last year has not been completely eliminated. The fact that the technical specifications of the two chipsets are close to each other makes it difficult to make a clear distinction just by looking at the processor data in the benchmark record. Therefore, the current record alone does not provide sufficient evidence as to which processor the standard X500 will come with. Despite this, it is already known that Vivo will make a distinction between models in the series in terms of processor.

It has been previously confirmed that the Vivo X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max will use MediaTek’s current flagship processor, Dimensity 9600 Pro. The standard X500, on the other hand, will come with a MediaTek chipset that is positioned lower according to the Geekbench record. Such a choice could help Vivo keep the X500 at a more accessible price point than the Pro models of the series. On the other hand, processor differences can make a difference between models not only in price but also in areas such as long-term high performance, gaming experience and image processing. The extent to which this difference will be felt in real use will be understood more clearly in comparisons with the final software of the devices.

Geekbench results should not be evaluated as a direct indicator of the daily usage performance of the phone. The fact that the tested device is still a prototype means that the software and power management settings may differ from the version that will be available for sale. In addition, a single benchmark result does not provide sufficient information about how well the processor can maintain its performance under temperature or how energy consumption is reflected in battery life. Still, the 2,694 single-core and 7,770 multi-core scores are among the first concrete data showing that the X500 targets a high performance level even though it is the standard model. 12 GB RAM also seems compatible with the positioning of the phone in the upper segment.

Vivo will officially introduce the X500, X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max models in China on September 21. With the introduction, it will become clear whether Dimensity 9600M or Dimensity 9500 will be used in the standard model. In addition, the prices of the devices with different RAM and storage options will also show how distinct the hardware distinction in the series is. For now, the Geekbench record indicates that the X500 will not give up current features such as Android 17 and 12 GB RAM, while using a lower-level processor than the Pro models. This approach shows that the main choice between the standard X500 and the more expensive Pro options may be shaped by the balance of processor performance and price.
