Bluesky, a followed account reposts introduced its new control to remove it from the main stream. Thus, it becomes possible to separately hide the reposts made by that person while the account’s own posts remain in the flow. Moreover, Bluesky places the option directly in the three-dot menu on the relevant user’s profile. Especially those who follow accounts that repost frequently can now edit the feed more easily without muting the account completely.

Bluesky had previously offered different filtering options on the stream. Custom streams on the platform allow choosing between different algorithms and creating separate streams based on specific types of content. The new repost control brings filtering directly to the account level. While continuing to read the posts of a followed user, it is possible to hide only the content transferred from other accounts. Bluesky increases users’ control over streaming
Bluesky also announced a separate beta feature that, along with the repost filter, makes it easier to follow long threads of posts. The new beta adds automatic sequence numbers to parts of a post thread, directly showing how many posts there are. This reduces the need to manually write expressions such as “1/8” or “2/8” into posts. Bluesky allows you to turn on this option from the settings section and shows the order of posts more clearly in long threads.
Threads uses a similar numbering approach in post threads. Bluesky thus makes it easier to navigate long post threads and adds a separate control for repost density in the main stream. In addition, the platform’s private streams, muted words and post hiding options continue to be used. After the user enters the relevant profile and taps on the ellipsis button to open the new repost setting “Hide reposts in feeds” chooses the option.
