Poco has officially announced the launch date of the Poco M8 Power model, which has been appearing in various software records for a while. According to the company’s announcement, the new smartphone will be introduced at an event to be held in India on August 4. Sales of the device will be made through Flipkart. Thus, after the signs seen in the HyperOS software, the expected official confirmation came. A few days before the launch, Poco started to share some of the prominent technical features of the device.
In the promotional post published by the company on X, the orange color option of Poco M8 Power can be seen. While the textured design used on the back surface attracts attention, the post also confirms two important details about the technical features of the device. Accordingly, the smartphone will have a battery with a capacity of 8,000 mAh and there will be a 50 megapixel main camera on the back. In the smartphone market, whose battery capacity has been increasing recently, models reaching 8,000 mAh are still available in limited numbers. Therefore, Poco M8 Power is expected to specifically target users looking for long battery life.
Poco M8 Power is expected to be based on Redmi Note 17
Previous information emerging in the industry indicates that the Poco M8 Power could be the rebranded version of the Redmi Note 17 that was introduced last week. Xiaomi has previously preferred the approach of offering similar hardware under different names for different markets under the Poco brand in many models. Therefore, it is not a surprise that the technical features of the two devices are largely common. However, the company has not yet made an official confirmation on this matter.
If the claims are true, Poco M8 Power is expected to come with a 7-inch OLED screen. In addition, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 processor is expected to power the performance of the device.
