HP’s new ProBook 4 G2i 14 model with 32 GB RAM is on sale

HP launched the ProBook 4 G2i 14 laptop, based on Intel’s new generation Panther Lake platform, in the global market. The company’s new model with a 14-inch screen replaces the previous ProBook 4 G1i and comes with hardware options ranging up to the Intel Core Ultra 7 355 processor. The computer, weighing 1.39 kilograms, aims for an assertive position in the business-oriented laptop segment by combining 32 GB RAM and a 68 Wh capacity battery in the highest configurations.

HP, which introduced the ProBook 4 G2ah model equipped with AMD Ryzen 200 series processors about two months ago, is now switching to Intel’s latest platform. The AMD-based model attracted attention with a significant increase in a short time after its initial sales price. The price of the device, which was sold for approximately $ 1,900, later increased to $ 2,186 and remained at this level. However, the starting price of the new Intel-based model remains at the first announced level for now.

HP ProBook 4 G2i offers varying hardware options in 14 different markets

The starting price of ProBook 4 G2i 14, which is on sale in the USA, was announced as $ 1,899. HP states that this price is offered with a 41 percent discount on the recommended sales price of $ 3,232. This configuration includes an Intel Core Ultra 7 355 processor, 32 GB RAM and 512 GB SSD. Core Ultra 7 355 stands out as one of the mid-level processors in Intel’s Panther Lake family. While the processor has an eight-core structure, it also includes a quad-core Xe3 integrated graphics unit.

However, the basic model offered in the USA has some limitations on the screen side. The laptop comes with an IPS panel with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. The panel offers 300 nits of brightness and covers 45 percent of the NTSC color gamut. Although these values are sufficient for daily office use, they may offer a more limited experience than higher-end panels in scenarios such as content production and visual editing where color accuracy is important.

The initial configuration in the European market contains some important differences. In the Eurozone, the device was offered for sale at prices starting from 1,402 euros, and in the United Kingdom from 1,247 pounds. While the entry-level model in these markets comes with the Intel Core Ultra 5 325 processor, a more advanced panel is preferred on the display side compared to the US version. The IPS screen, which reaches 400 nits of brightness, provides higher color accuracy by covering the entire sRGB color space. This feature offers a more advantageous use, especially in terms of photo editing, graphic design and multimedia content consumption.

All starting configurations have a common battery with a capacity of 68 Wh. This capacity can be considered relatively high for a laptop that is 14 inches and weighs 1.39 kilograms. Charging can be done via the device’s two USB Type-C ports. Charging support via USB-C allows users to power multiple devices with a single adapter, while also providing practicality in mobile usage scenarios.
