Qualcomm gave a date, Galaxy S27’s processor will be introduced in September

Qualcomm officially announced the date of the Snapdragon Summit 2026 event, where it will introduce its next generation high-end processors. According to the information shared by the company, the organization will be held on Maui Island, Hawaii, USA, between 22-24 September 2026. New Snapdragon platforms for smartphones, laptops and tablets are expected to be introduced at the event. Leaks especially indicate that the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro model can be used in the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy Z Fold 9 family that Samsung will introduce next year.

Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 series may be included in Galaxy S27 models

According to information shared in the industry, Qualcomm will announce two different flagship processors, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro. It is stated that both chips will be produced with TSMC’s 2 nanometer production technology. It seems likely that the Pro version, which is expected to have more advanced clock speeds, will be preferred in Samsung’s upper segment phones.

According to current expectations, Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro can be used in the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ models that will be available in some markets. In addition, the Galaxy S27 Pro, Galaxy S27 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 9 and Galaxy Z Fold 9 Ultra models are expected to be powered by the same platform. Considering the regional processor strategy that Samsung has implemented in recent years, it will not be a surprise if Snapdragon and Exynos options are offered together in different markets.

On the other hand, it is claimed that the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ models may go on sale in many regions of the world with the Exynos 2700 processor developed by Samsung. Allegedly, this chip will come out of Samsung Foundry’s second generation 2 nanometer production process. In addition, it is stated that Samsung can use the new generation cooling solution called Side-by-Side (SBS) in these models. This system, which is expected to provide more efficient heat distribution, is aimed to offer advantages in usage scenarios requiring long-term high performance.

Leaked technical information shows that Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 will have an operating frequency of up to 4.4 GHz with its eight-core processor structure. On the graphics side, it is stated that the Adreno 845 GPU will work and this unit will come with 12 MB graphics memory. It is also among the shared information that the processor will support LPDDR5X memory.

Higher performance is targeted in the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro model. It is stated that this processor can reach an operating frequency of up to 5 GHz while maintaining its eight-core CPU structure. On the graphics side, it is stated that the Adreno 850 GPU will be used, will offer 18 MB of graphics memory and can support the new generation LPDDR6 memory standard as well as LPDDR5X. If confirmed, these features may attract attention, especially in areas of use that require intensive processing power, such as artificial intelligence operations, advanced mobile games and high-resolution content production.

In addition, Qualcomm is expected to introduce two new upper segment processors that will be positioned under the flagship series within the scope of the event. It is stated that these chips, which are claimed to be named Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5XX Edition and Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Pro, were developed with 3 nanometer production technology. It is considered that the company aims to create a wider product range in the premium segment with these models. The exact technical details about all of Qualcomm’s new platforms will become clear at the Snapdragon Summit 2026 event, which will start on September 22.
