First official trace found for Galaxy S27, new details emerge

The Galaxy S27 model, which Samsung is expected to introduce next year, appeared in the GSMA IMEI database for the first time. While the record in question confirms the name and model number of the device, it indicates that the development process of the phone is actively continuing. According to the information in the database, the model number is listed under the SM-S952 series. The displayed variant stands out as the SM-S952U model prepared for the US market. This model is expected to be offered for sale through the country’s leading mobile operators.

Records appearing in IMEI databases are often among the first semi-official traces of a new smartphone seen on the internet. Therefore, although the listing of the Galaxy S27 is not a surprise, it is important as it shows that the device has passed the development stage and is moving towards global certification processes. It is expected that the phone will appear in the databases of regulatory authorities in different countries in the coming months. This may reveal more information about technical specifications and regional variants.

While Samsung’s preparations for the flagship series continue, various rumors about the Galaxy S27 have started to come to the fore. Although there are no technical details confirmed by the company at the moment, information from supply chain sources points to some changes on the screen and processor side.

Galaxy S27 may come with changes on the screen and processor side

According to recent allegations, the display panel of the Samsung Galaxy S27 may be produced by China-based BOE instead of Samsung Display. While BOE has increased its capacity in OLED display production in recent years, it has started to supply panels to many large manufacturers. Despite this, it will be a remarkable development if this change occurs, as Samsung has been using its own display technologies in its flagship models for many years.

On the processor side, it is said that the Galaxy S27 can be powered by the Exynos 2700 chipset developed by Samsung. However, it is stated that this may not be valid in all markets. Similar to the strategy implemented by Samsung in the past years, Exynos may be preferred in some regions and different processor solutions may be preferred in others. There are claims that the US market may be excluded from this scope. However, it is necessary to wait for the official announcement for definitive information about processor distribution.

In addition, it is said that the Galaxy S27 family may have a wider product range than the current structure. According to leaks, Samsung is considering adding a fourth model to the series. In such a case, it may be possible for a new variant to be available to users in addition to the standard model, Plus and Ultra options. The company’s tendency to diversify its product range according to different user needs in recent years strengthens this possibility.

The official launch of the Galaxy S27 series is expected to take place in January 2027. Although there is no official information other than the record in the IMEI database for now, the technical features of the series will become clearer with certification documents and new leaks in the coming period. Current information shows that Samsung continues to work on the next generation flagship family and the products are progressing according to the planned schedule.
