The possible release date for Google’s new generation smart speaker, Google Home Speaker, has begun to become clear. It is stated that the device, which was shown for the first time at the Made by Google 2025 event held last year, will be available for sale on June 25, 2026. This information came from the product page on the Best Buy website in Canada. While there is no information about the same date in the company’s US store, no official update has been made on the Google Store yet.
Google Home Speaker was introduced with a brief preview in August last year, and additional details were shared in October. The speaker, which is expected to be one of the new devices to join Google’s Gemini-supported product family after Pixel 10a and Fitbit Air, will occupy a central position in the company’s artificial intelligence-focused smart home approach.
The hardware side of the product is thought to be completed at this stage. On the other hand, it appears that work continues on the software side. In particular, the fact that the Gemini for Home experience is still within the Early Access Program may have been effective in shaping the release schedule. Google continues to test new features by updating the preview version three to four times a month, which has been available on existing Nest speakers and smart displays since March.
Google Home Speaker comes with Gemini integration
The sales price of Google Home Speaker is expected to be $ 99.99. It is stated that the device will be offered in four different color options: Berry, Hazel, Jade and Porcelain. While Berry brings together pink and red tones, Hazel brings together black and gray colors. While Jade offers a light green appearance, Porcelain appeals to users who prefer beige and white tones.
On the design side, Google appears to have improved upon the previous Nest Audio approach. The body of the speaker is largely surrounded by a fabric covering. At the bottom, there is a ring design consisting of status lights and a microphone off switch. This structure aims to offer both a simple appearance and physical privacy control.
However, the device will not only be used as an independent speaker. A home theater system can be created by pairing Google TV Streamer with two Google Home Speakers. This feature stands out as one of the long-awaited functions in the Google ecosystem. In addition, stereo pairing support will also be offered. Users will be able to use two speakers as right and left channels, or they will be able to create a multi-room audio experience by grouping existing Nest speakers.
Another noteworthy point for Google is that this product is the first new speaker model that the company has announced since 2020. The company, which has focused on software and artificial intelligence in the intervening years, is now preparing to support the Gemini-supported new generation smart home experience with hardware.
Google Home Speaker is expected to go on sale in 19 countries initially. USA, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Japan, Australia and New Zealand are among these countries. An official release date has not been confirmed by Google yet. Despite this, the listing seen on Best Buy Canada indicates that the promotion and sales process of the product is now quite close. Google is expected to share more comprehensive information about the device’s software features and Gemini integration in the coming weeks.
