HMD officially announced the Vibe 2 5G model, which has been on the agenda with promotional posts for a while, in India. The phone, which is the continuation of the HMD Vibe model introduced in September 2025, draws attention especially with its battery capacity and innovations on the screen. Positioned between the entry and middle segments, the device offers a daily use-oriented structure with its high refresh rate screen, large battery and Android 16 operating system. In addition, the company tries to remain competitive by maintaining an affordable price level. Sales of the phone will start on Flipkart on May 26.
A 6.75 inch LCD screen is preferred in the new model. Offering HD + resolution, the panel supports 120Hz refresh rate. In this way, a more fluid image is achieved, especially in social media use, menu transitions and gaming experience. However, the fact that the screen resolution does not increase to Full HD level may be seen as limiting for users who consume intensive multimedia. Despite this, the preservation of the high refresh rate in this price range is among the remarkable factors.
On the processor side of the phone, there is the Unisoc T8200 platform. The device can be configured with up to 6 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage. In addition, thanks to microSD card support, it is possible to increase the storage capacity up to 1 TB. Maintaining memory card support continues to be an important preference, especially for users in the entry segment. The device is expected to offer balanced usage in terms of daily application use, basic gaming experience and multitasking performance.
HMD Vibe 2 5G comes with Android 16 and 6000 mAh battery
On the camera side, there is a 50 megapixel main camera on the back of the device. In addition, there is a second auxiliary sensor, but HMD has not yet shared the technical details of this camera. On the front, an 8-megapixel selfie camera is preferred. Although the camera setup does not seem ambitious on paper, it is aimed to provide sufficient performance especially for the main sensor in daily shooting. On the other hand, details about video features or artificial intelligence-supported camera tools have not been disclosed yet.
One of the most striking aspects of the device is its 6000 mAh capacity battery. This capacity may make it stand out among phones that promise long battery life even under intense use. However, on the charging side, only 18W wired fast charging support is offered. The large battery capacity combined with low-speed charging means that the time to full charge can be long. However, for users looking for a long usage time, this preference seems to be balanced to a certain extent.
HMD Vibe 2 5G comes out of the box with Android 16 operating system. The company also confirmed that it will provide security updates for the device for two years. In addition, the device also includes features such as a side-positioned fingerprint reader, 3.5 mm headphone jack and IP64 certification. Connection options include 5G, dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS and USB Type-C. In particular, protecting the headphone jack and providing an IP certificate are still among the details that users care about in the entry segment.
HMD will offer its new model for sale in three different color options: Cosmic Lavender, Nordic Blue and Peach Pink. On the pricing side, the basic model with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB storage will start at 10,999 Indian rupees (5245 TL). The version with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB storage carries a price tag of 11,999 Indian rupees (5720 TL). Considering the announced prices, Vibe 2 5G stands out as one of the accessible options, especially for users looking for a large battery and a high refresh rate screen.
