Galaxy S26 sales exceeded expectations in the first weeks

Samsung’s 2026 flagship phones, the Galaxy S26 series, made a stronger start compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy S25, in the first weeks of its sale. According to Counterpoint Research data, the new series achieved 29 percent more sales than the previous model in the first three weeks. This increase comes at a time when the smartphone market is challenged by supply shortages in memory and storage components.

The component crisis experienced throughout the market increased the costs of manufacturers and began to be reflected in device prices. Despite this, the high demand for Samsung’s new models shows that the consumer’s interest in upper segment devices continues. The pre-order performance, especially during the launch period, reveals that the promotion calendar set for March kept demand alive.

Intense interest in the Galaxy S26 Ultra model draws attention

One of the most striking aspects of the series was that the majority of users preferred the top model, Galaxy S26 Ultra. According to data, 71 percent of sales came from this model. This shows that despite the price increase, users are turning to devices that offer more advanced features. It is stated that users who previously preferred the Plus model switched to the Ultra model, taking into consideration the price difference.

In addition, campaigns offered by operators in the USA also supported the sales of the Ultra model. Advantageous offers offered by operators such as AT&T and T-Mobile contributed to the device, which costs approximately $ 1300, becoming more accessible. The Privacy Display feature on the device, which offers privacy-oriented use, is also among the elements that attract the attention of users. This feature provides additional security, especially when used in public areas, by limiting the visibility of the screen from side angles.

On the other hand, not only Samsung but also other models introduced in the same period contributed to the mobilization of the market. Apple’s iPhone 17e model and Google’s Pixel 10a device were also among the factors supporting sales. Despite this, it seems that the real acceleration comes with the Galaxy S26 series.

An annual growth rate of approximately 5 percent was recorded in the smartphone market during the said period. It is thought that the expectation of rising prices was also effective in this increase. The prediction that the increase in hardware costs will be more reflected in device prices may have led users to purchase new models earlier. The fact that Samsung is among the manufacturers that tend to increase prices is considered as a factor that supports this behavior.

It is not yet clear how models such as Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Pixel 11, which are expected to be introduced later in the year, will perform. However, current trends indicate that these devices can reach higher sales figures compared to their predecessors if similar pricing conditions are maintained. The performance of the Galaxy S26 series in the first weeks clearly demonstrates that the demand for high-end smartphones continues despite global uncertainties.
