The new design prepared by Apple for Siri with iOS 27 became visible for the first time through the promotional images shared by the company for the WWDC 2026 event. According to information provided by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, Apple’s voice assistant is both visually renewed and includes more comprehensive changes on the functionality side. The Siri experience, which has been criticized for a long time, is aimed to have a more modern structure with this version. The first clues are directly included in the event images shared by Apple itself.
According to the details shared by Gurman, the new Siri interface adopts a visual approach similar to the glow effect seen in the WWDC 2026 posters. It is stated that this effect is especially noticeable in the dark mode of the iPhone. For this reason, it is noteworthy that Apple preferred a black background in the event images. Although the final version of the design may change by June, it is stated that the current approach is shaped in this direction.
In the new design, Siri appears to work more integrated with the Dynamic Island area at the top of the iPhone screen. When the user activates Siri, this area expands and an input field is presented with the phrase “Search or Ask”. This expanding structure is supported by a glowing animation consistent with the light effect in WWDC visuals. In addition, it is stated that the text-based search area in the independent Siri application has a similar visual style.
Siri experience becomes more interactive with iOS 27
Siri, which is expected to be available with iOS 27, includes significant changes not only visually but also in terms of user experience. The aim is for users to have more natural and uninterrupted conversations with Siri. In this context, capabilities such as transmitting multiple requests within a single command and preserving the context of ongoing conversations stand out. In addition, previously announced features such as personal context awareness and detecting content on the screen are expected to be implemented in this version.
In addition to all these, it is stated that new generation basic models will be used in Siri’s infrastructure. It is stated that these models benefit from Google Gemini technology. Thus, it appears that Apple aims to gain a stronger position in the artificial intelligence-based assistant race. In addition, plans include offering a separate Siri application where users can access their past conversations. The search experience between Siri and Spotlight is expected to have a more integrated structure.
On the other hand, it is known that Apple recently renewed the Siri design with iOS 18. In that version, the colorful light effect surrounding the edges of the screen stood out. Despite this, it seems that the company is turning to a redesign process because some planned features cannot be made available on time. This new approach, introduced with iOS 27, aims to offer a more balanced structure in terms of both visual simplicity and functional integrity.
