Radical design experiments from Samsung: New generation foldable phones are on the way

According to a new leak from South Korea, the company has not completely given up on this segment after the double-foldable Galaxy Z TriFold model, which it recently stopped producing. Although the first model was on sale for a limited time of only three months, it is stated that Samsung is working on a new version by developing this concept. It is stated that this new model is temporarily called Galaxy Z TriFold 2. Despite this, the possibility that the official name of the device may be different is not ruled out.

According to the emerging information, Galaxy Z TriFold 2 is planned to be introduced in mid-2027. This date shows that Samsung aims to create a more mature design language in foldable devices. It is also noteworthy that the company focuses on significant engineering improvements rather than simply repeating the existing design.

Thinner and lighter design is targeted for Galaxy Z Trifold 2

One of the most striking details about the new model stands out as the changes to be made on the design side. According to the leak, the Galaxy Z TriFold 2 will be noticeably thinner and lighter than the previous model. The current Galaxy Z TriFold is known to have a thickness of 12.9 mm when folded. Despite this, it is stated that the thickness of the new model will be very close to the Galaxy Z Fold7, which measures 8.9 mm when folded. This means that despite the multi-layered screen structure, a serious thinning will be achieved.

In addition, improvements are expected to be made on the weight side. Although the technical details are not yet clear, it is predicted that a lighter body structure will directly affect the user experience.
