Apple’s foldable iPhone plan becomes clear: There’s multitasking, there may be no Face ID

New details about the foldable iPhone model, which Apple has been talking about for a long time, have come to the fore. According to information shared by Mark Gurman from Bloomberg, the device in question can offer an iPad-like user interface, allowing multiple applications to be displayed side by side on the screen at the same time. This approach means a software layout that aims to make more efficient use of the space offered by the large internal screen. Despite this, it is stated that Apple’s foldable iPhone model will not directly run existing iPad applications. Although the screen size is getting closer to the tablet experience, the app ecosystem is expected to remain iPhone-focused.

According to the information provided by Gurman, the external screen of the device will have a relatively compact iPhone size. In addition, it is stated that the internal screen will offer a wider aspect ratio. This ratio may offer a structure similar to the design seen in Google’s first generation Pixel Fold model. Despite this, it is stated that a different design than the narrower and longer screen ratio seen in some foldable flagships today may be preferred. Such a screen structure can provide a larger working area, especially for document editing, web browsing and multi-application use.

Foldable iPhone will come with Touch ID and new camera design

According to the emerging information, Touch ID may be preferred instead of Face ID in Apple’s foldable iPhone model. The main reason for this is that the front panel of the device is not thick enough to accommodate the Face ID sensor system.
